Getting Started Guide
Learn how to create your account and unlock its full potential with our comprehensive, step-by-step guide.
Introduction
Getting started with ReactiveStatements is quick and easy. In our step-by-step guide you will learn how to:
- Create account
- Upload brokerage statement
- Manually add transactions
- Update account settings
Create Account
To get started, the first step is to create an account. Simply go to our sign-up page and follow the steps.
Once you have successfully created an account and logged in, you will be taken to the Dashboard. Here, you can find the most useful information about your portfolio, including asset allocation, profit, dividends, and more. Note that the Dashboard will be empty the first time you open it since the data is not yet available. The following two sections will explain how to set up your portfolio.
Upload Brokerage Statement
You can easily add all of your transactions, such as stocks or ETFs, dividends, and corporate events with just a few clicks. Currently, we support statement imports from Interactive Brokers, but we are continuously working to extend our support to more brokerages.
Download Interactive Brokers Statement
To download an Interactive Brokers statement, go to the Performance and Reports section, then click on Statements.
Find the Activity option and click on the arrow button.
In the Activity Dialog, choose the Period (e.g. Annual) and select the Period Interval. When ready, click the Download button next to the CSV format.
Please note, that you should upload statements starting from the oldest available statement to the newest one. It is because we validate your securities quantities, and it won't be possible to create invalid transactions (e.g. adding sell transactions without preceding buy transactions).
Upload Interactive Brokers Statement
Once you download your Interactive Brokers statement, you can use our upload feature. We will automatically retrieve your transactions, dividends, and corporate events.
Go to the Upload menu.
Click the Upload Statement button and choose your Interactive Brokers statement.
After uploading your statement, you can view the retrieved data. Verify the accuracy of the data and select the transactions, dividends, and corporate events you wish to save to your account.
If there is a difference between the data in your Interactive Brokers statement and those we have retrieved, you can use the Edit button to correct it.
After you upload your Interactive Brokers statements, you can navigate to the Dashboard or the Holdings menus to further explore your portfolio.
Manually Add Transactions
You can manually add transactions for the securities you own, such as stocks or ETFs, by following several simple steps:
- Log in to your Account
- Go to Transactions
- Click the Add button to add a new transaction
- Enter the transaction date, the price you paid per unit, the quantity, and any fees or commissions associated with the transaction
- Choose the type of transaction you want to add, either Buy or Sell.
- Choose the currency of the transaction
- Once you have entered all transaction details, click the Save button to add the transaction to your portfolio
That's it! By following these simple steps, you can add transactions and track them in a currency of your choice.
Update Account Settings
You can customize your account to meet your specific needs. By selecting your preferred account currency and exchange rate provider, you can view your portfolio performance in the currency of your choice.
Go to Account Settings.
You can update the Preferred Currency and Exchange Rate Provider via the Edit buttons on the right side.
After updating your account currency and exchange rates provider, we will automatically convert your transactions to the selected currency using exchange rates from the chosen provider. As a result, you can easily track your transactions and dividends in both their original currency and the currency of your choice.
Conclusion
In conclusion, by following the steps outlined in this guide, you can easily create an account, add transactions, and upload statements to track your portfolio performance. Additionally, by configuring your account currency and exchange rates provider, you can track your transactions and dividends in both their original currency and your preferred currency.
We hope this guide has been helpful, and we are excited to see you start using our software to manage your investments.
